Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are citizens of India as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India in the prescribed Standard Form of application published in Part-IX of Assam Gazette along with the self-attested copies of all testimonials as mentioned in the application procedure mentioned below for filling up of one (01) post of Laboratory Assistant and one (01) post of Electric Mistry in the Directorate of Museums, Assam, Ambari, Guwahati–781001.

1. Age Limit
- Candidate should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years of age as on 01.01.2025, i.e. candidates born not on or before 31.12.1984 and not later than 01.01.2007 are eligible to apply. The age of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/ HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate issued by a recognized Board/ Council. No other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for this purpose.
- The upper age limit is relaxable upto:
- 5 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) and ST (H).
- 3 (three) years in case of candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.
- 2 (two) years in case of Ex-Servicemen.
- 10 (ten) years in case of PwD candidates irrespective of castes.
2. Application Procedure
- The application should be submitted in the Standard Form as prescribed in Part–IX of the Assam Gazette.
- Applications must be accompanied by:
- Self-attested copies of all certificates and mark sheets in support of educational qualification.
- Self attested HSLC Admit Card/ HSLC Pass Certificate for age proof.
- Caste Certificate issued by Competent Authority (in case of reserved category candidates claiming age relaxation)
- Valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
- Two recent passport size photographs signed by the candidate.
- Copy of personal ID (Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Bank Pass Book 1st Page).
- Declaration in Form “A” under rule 5(1) of the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019.
- Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate issued by Competent Authority (if applicable)
- Applications should be addressed to: “The Director, Directorate of Museums, Assam, GNB Road, Ambari, Guwahati–781001”.
- The envelope containing the application must be superscribed with the words “Application for the Post of Laboratory Assistant/ Electric Mistry”.
Note: The decision of the Directorate of Museums, Assam as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final.
3. Last Date for Submission
The application must reach the undersigned on or before October 17, 2025 during office hours.
4. Selection Process
- Those applicants whose applications are found to be in order will be called for a Written Test and /or Skill Test to be held at a place and date to be notified in due course.

5. General Instructions to the Candidates
- No TA / DA will be admissible to candidates for the journey and stay at any stage of the recruitment process.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
- Government servants must apply through proper channel.
- The candidates already employed should note that the prerogative for according permission to appear in Written Test/ join the service on being selected by the Directorate of Museums, Assam in due course of time shall rest upon the appropriate authority. The Directorate of Museums, Assam shall not be anyway responsible/accountable in the event of not according permission to appear in the written test/ join the service after selection.
- In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in aggregate, then the seniority of age shall be preferred.
- The selection list confers no right to appointment unless the Directorate is satisfied about suitability of the candidate after a thorough medical examination and verification of all essential documents for eligibility as may be considered necessary before appointment to the service / post.
- Candidates have to appear in all the stages of recruitment. If a candidate is absent from any stage his / her candidature will be cancelled.
- Candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process, if found not confirming to the official format/having incomplete information/wrong information/incomplete requisite certificate (s)/misrepresentation of facts or impersonation.
- Newly-appointed candidates have to submit an undertaking to the effect that they will abide by the NEW PENSION RULES.
- The Appointing Authority reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment process on specific grounds.
- Fake documents / false information/misrepresentation of facts shall lead to rejection if detected at any stage before/after appointment and shall make the candidate liable to criminal proceeding as per existing law.
- Offering of bribe in any form for any favour by a candidate or by any individual on behalf of any candidate is a criminal offence. Such an activity shall result in immediate disqualification of the candidature of that particular candidate.
- In case of any clarification, the decision of the Appointing Authority will be final.
- The Rules and Regulations, terms and conditions of the Department and Govt. of Assam will be applicable.
